Our Coin Boxes which come in two different styles and are interchangeable with other makes of coin boxes.

They are available in Blue, Black & Chrome. Please call for details and specifications.

** Note that the style of box is not optional, the size of the machine will dictate the style of box you will use.**

Note: Over the years the cosmetic appearance of the boxes have varied both from manufacturer to manufacturer and within a give size box. The illustration below will help guide you in determining which coin box fits your machine.

Monarch Guardian boxes are equivalent to, and interchange with: Greenwald Industries UG800 and UG800B ESD MacGard II

Guardian Box For Older Whirlpool Machines

These boxes most often fit on Older Whirlpool Machines. We have found that they also may work on some old Maytag models amongst others.

GBL Coin boxes

(3 1/2"H x 3 3/4"W x 6" Tray)

Old Whirlpool machines left the factory ready to accept the Jewel box.
That box is only 2 ½” high. Added capacity can be gained by using the GBX.
There was a spacer under the box that could be removed, and the machine could then accept the 6” Guardian box.

Guardian Box For New Maytag & New Whirlpool, GE

The GBX coin box fits many different machines. New Whirlpool, New GE, Maytag, Continental Girbau, and some Milnor machines as well.

GBE Guardian Boxes

There are a few models of Speed Queen/ Hubesch and Dexter machines that now have the ability to take a 10" box. These are only on select models of machines.

JBL Coin Boxes

The standard coin boxes fit a wide range of older machines. Older GE, Older Speed Queen/ Huebsch and some older Whirlpool top loading machines will use the 6" tray. Many of the newer machines listed will take the JBX.

NOTE: New Speed Queen, after 6/2003 will use the 8" tray. Older Dexter, Huebsch and Speed Queen Stack dryers use a lock with extension. See more on the lock and extension assemblies. Some Older Huebsch and Speed Queen Stack units may use only the 6" tray, while newer machines accept the higher capacity 8" tray. Wascomat prior to 2000 machines use the 6" trays (JBL), Wascomat after 2000 use 8" trays (JBX). Please measure your existing coin boxes to be certain of your needs. Also note that some new models of Speed Queen / Huebsch and Dexter may take a 10" box refered to as our GBE (10"guardian box).

JBX Coin Boxes

The JBX coin box fits many Front Load Washers and Dryers. Dexter, SQ/Huebsc, IPSO, UniMac, Wascomat, and Continental.

** Please note that many newer machines have changed and are changing the type of coin box that the meter case will accept.**

GE has changed the size of the meter case and it now takes big box. There are a few models of Dexter and Speed Queen that will now take a large capacity box know as our 10" Guardian box, GBE.

To correctly identify what type of of coin box that your machine will accept please measure the rough opening that your machine has (Height, Width, and depth of the opening for the coin box) and provide us with that so we can accurately get you the box that you need.

LAUNDRY KITS

These KITS are the components needed in order for the coin operated machine to operate properly. These components do not turn a domestic machine into a coin operated machine and will not be of any use for any machine that does not come factory direct with the ability to be coin operated.

Here are the kits for the four main manufacturers.

Complete Whirlpool kit includes:

Vertical 8 coin mechanism, value set as per request (other coin slides available upon request)

8" GUARDIAN COIN BOX, 5 different lock choices available

MOUNTING BOLT, (to mount coin slide)

EXTENSION for your washer or dryer (if your unit is a stack dryer you must request stack dryer extension)

Each coin box comes with one key (exceptions are made when large quantities are ordered) and can be keyed individually, keyed alike, or in groups.

NOTE: In July of 2000 Whirlpool introduced the modified meter housing. Machines manufactured prior to that month will accept a standard 6" coin box, or, with the removal of a spacer in the bottom of the coin box opening, it will accept a Guardian with a 6" tray. Machines after that date, with model numbers ending in "JQ" will accept ONLY the 8" Guardian.

Current kits include the new box

NOTE: Whirlpool continues to make machines using the mechanical timer driven by a synchronous electric motor. However, there is also a series that uses a programmable solid state timer/control board.

These machines use a switch kit to initiate contact and to start the machines.

Monarch offers a switch kit, available with Monarch Coin Chutes and Coin Boxes, but also available separately. This allows the operator to use Monarch, ESD, Greenwald, Or lay-down tokette/token chutes. The added advantage of the Monarch Universal switch kits is that no dis-assembly of the coin chute is required for installation, and all wiring is kept to the rear of the meter, which isolates it more thoroughly. The same kit fits both washer and dryers in the EMS1000 Series.

8" GUARDIAN COIN BOX, 5 different lock choices available

MOUNTING BOLT, (to mount coin slide)

( the EXTENSION for your washer or dryer will be packed in the machine. These are Maytag only parts. The kit for the washer and the dryer are identical in all other respects)

Each coin box comes with one key (exceptions are made when large quantities are ordered) and can be keyed individually, keyed alike, or in groups.

SERVICE DOOR LOCKS are sold separately!

Maytag coin boxes are now the 8" Guardian Box. Prior to the design change, Maytag coin boxes were produced by Maytag and the lock and extension, or the lock with cam were furnished separately.

If your machine was produced before June 1997 then you will need to see our page on extensions for your machines.

New machines will take kits as noted below.

NOTE: Older Maytag machines have coin boxes that are the same color as the machine. The GBX DOES NOT fit those machines.
As of January 2008, Maytag no longer includes the mounting bolt with the machine when shipping. It DOES include the operating extension for those machines using Push/Pull Mechanisms. Your machine will require: a V8 chute, a GBX coin box and a mounting bolt. Service door locks are sold separately.
