Q: WHY should I use Aqua-Misers? I do not wish to charge my customers for a shower; after all, they paid to stay here.
A: FIRST – A TRUE HORROR STORY! – We recently had a campground order shower controls because on a busy holiday weekend the local Board of Health shut down a major area of his facility. The added demand on the showers, with the added water going down the drain overloaded his septic system and waste water was coming to the surface. That alone is an excellent reason to control shower usage!!Some Points To Consider: Providing showers is an important part of your service to the customer. However, too often the service is abused. Water is wasted. Or someone will take a forty minute shower and the next customer has no hot water.
Using tokens, you have not charged your customer for the service. But you have limited how long they stay in there, and how often they use it. It also means YOU control WHO is using the facilities.
You can use coins if tokens are inconvenient. This will at least make the user aware of the value of the service provided and offset the operating costs.
Customer Satisfaction. Assuring that the hot water is there when the camper wants it can be an important part of the satisfaction with the camping experience. Each person in the party may get one token a day each day, and if they need added time, then you might charge for that.
But the big thing is that you have minimized the waste of your water, the expense of heating the water, and the amount of water that has gone down the drain.
Aside from minimizing your operating costs, and maximizing the services you offer, there are environmental and conservation issues.
Visitors to campgrounds may be experienced campers, sensitive to the need for conservation of natural resources. Or they may be the occasional traveler who is not aware that providing the nicer amenities of civilization in a remote location can be costly.
Controlling shower usage is a part of a general conservation effort. With the wide spread concerns over water, or rather the lack of it, your efforts are a part of the overall solution. Signage in your facility can emphasize this and be an educational tool to inform your clients of the issues.

Q: I have Marks Time controls on my showers. Where can I get replacements?
A: You can’t. The company that produced these timers withdrew them from the market in 2000. The company still exists but only produces timing controls for industrial applications. They do not support the coin operated version any longer.
A: Funny you should ask! We have added a push-to-start timer in a NEMA 4x weatherproof enclosure. The gasketed polycarbonate enclosure contains the button and the timer to control a “Shower Power Kit” for use on showers at campgrounds, RV Parks, and truck stops. Or it can be used to control infra-red heaters at driving ranges or to create a smokers break area. The timer can control misters, or lighting for basketball/tennis courts and other recreational venues. Many different time ranges and voltages are available.
Q: I have some strange tokens that I cannot identify nor know where to get them. What can I do?
Q: I have existing showers, but the meters are old and going bad. Can I replace the meters only?
A: Yes, you can purchase the meters only. But we will need to know the voltage to match the valves you have. For more information, please download the PDF file at Aqua-Miser
A: Most items ship in 24 to 48 hours! Small orders placed early in the day often ship that afternoon.

Packages received without an RMA number will be returned to sender at your cost.
A: There was one called “Marks Time” that was a coin operated spring wound unit but still operated a switch to control electrical devices. The manufacturer withdrew it from production about 2000.
A: We currently do not have units with bill validators, but this is something we are currently working on.
